Lorae Legal Notice

This Legal Notice applies to the website, mobile application, and related products and services operated by Lorae LLC (collectively, “Lorae,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It supplements, and should be read together with, Lorae’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
1. Lorae Is a Support Technology, Not a Healthcare Provider
Lorae is a mental health support technology designed to help users record and reflect on experiences, identify patterns, engage with structured educational and skills-based activities, set goals, and support work that may occur between appointments with a qualified mental health professional. Lorae does not provide psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, medical advice, medical treatment, psychiatric care, crisis intervention, or other professional healthcare services. Information and tools made available through Lorae are for informational, educational, organizational, and supportive purposes and are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
2. No Professional Relationship With Lorae
Use of Lorae does not create a physician-patient, therapist-client, counselor-client, psychologist-client, or other healthcare professional relationship between you and Lorae, its owners, employees, contractors, or technology providers. If you are working with a clinician or other healthcare professional, that professional relationship is between you and that professional. Lorae does not direct or control a clinician’s professional judgment, diagnosis, treatment decisions, standard of care, or communications with you.
3. Clinician Connections and Clinician’s Corner
Lorae may allow a user to connect with a clinician, receive clinician-assigned activities, or share information through features such as Clinician’s Corner. A clinician’s ability to access information through Lorae does not mean that the clinician has reviewed, will review, or will respond to that information. Users should follow their clinician’s instructions for routine and urgent communications and should not rely on Lorae as the sole method of communicating clinically important information.
4. No Continuous or Real-Time Monitoring
Lorae is not a continuous monitoring, emergency monitoring, suicide-risk monitoring, or real-time clinical surveillance service. Features such as reminders, scores, ratings, trends, summaries, patterns, thresholds, flags, or notifications may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or not reviewed by a clinician. No Lorae feature should be interpreted as a diagnosis, medical conclusion, clinical risk assessment, emergency warning, or guarantee that a clinician or other person will take action.
5. Emergencies and Crisis Situations
Do not use Lorae for emergencies or crisis situations. If you believe you or another person may be in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency service. In the United States and its territories, you may also call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Do not wait for a response through Lorae, Clinician’s Corner, a sharing feature, or a connected clinician.
6. Educational Activities and Emotional Discomfort
Some Lorae activities may involve reflecting on thoughts, emotions, uncertainty, feared situations, habits, behaviors, or other personally meaningful experiences. These activities may sometimes feel uncomfortable. You may stop using an activity at any time and, when appropriate, discuss the activity with a qualified professional. Lorae does not determine whether a particular activity is appropriate for an individual. When an activity is assigned or recommended by a clinician, the clinician remains responsible for the professional judgment involved in that decision.
7. Individual Experiences and Outcomes
Individual experiences vary. Lorae does not guarantee symptom reduction, improved mental health, successful treatment, increased engagement, improved clinical outcomes, or any other particular result. References to evidence-informed, clinician-informed, CBT-informed, or similar approaches describe the design or source of concepts used in certain tools and do not mean that Lorae itself has been clinically proven or validated unless expressly stated with supporting evidence.
8. Accuracy and Availability
We aim to provide useful and accurate information, but Lorae may contain errors, omissions, interruptions, or outdated information. Features may change over time. You are responsible for evaluating information presented through Lorae and for seeking professional guidance when appropriate.
9. Third-Party Services
Lorae may integrate with or link to third-party services, including app stores, payment processors, authentication providers, analytics providers, hosting providers, communication services, or healthcare organizations. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Lorae is not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law or contract.
10. Intellectual Property
The Lorae name, branding, software, interface, graphics, text, educational materials, and other content provided by Lorae LLC are owned by or licensed to Lorae LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No ownership rights are transferred merely because you access or use Lorae.
11. Privacy
Lorae’s handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. Depending on the relationship among Lorae, a healthcare organization, and a user, certain information may also be subject to HIPAA or other healthcare privacy requirements. Health-related information is not automatically protected by HIPAA merely because it is entered into a health or wellness application.
